CHANGE and REVOLUTION: Love, Chemistry, & the Guillotine, an opera by Bridget Gole & Peter Skoggard

Travel with librettist Bridget Gole’s and composer Peter Skoggard’s new opera, Mme Lavoisier, with singers and piano, through the story of Marie Anne Lavoisier: her youth as a hostess in her father’s salon, her marriage to Antoine Lavoisier, their collaborative work in the chemistry lab and encounter with the increasing violence of the French Revolution, and her life after Antoine’s execution. Both Gole and Skoggard will describe the whole process of creating an opera about this resilient woman in a Q & A involving the audience.
